Apple iPhone: To avoid Trump’s tariff and reduce its dependence on China, Apple plans to shift the iPhone assembly to India by the end of next year to India. In the last few years, Apple is gradually creating its manufacturing base in India. In this work, the company is getting the support of many manufacturers, Foxconn and Tata Electronics.
Foxconn and Tata increased exports
In March alone, Foxconn exported $ 1.31 billion iPhone. This is the biggest export ever done in any one month. This is equivalent to the total exports made in January and February. Tata has also made a long jump in this case. In March, Tata’s iPhone exports increased by 63 percent to $ 612 million. According to the report, as soon as Trump announced a new tariff on Chinese products, Apple started sending more and more smartphones in India to avoid this high tariff imposed on China.
Apple’s target is till 2026
However, the company did not take this step just to avoid tariffs. Apple aims to create all iPhones for America by the year 2026 in India. Apple has been dependent on China for years for manufacturing iPhone, but now the company is going to increase its production in India. In such a situation, there is a possibility that India emerged as Apple’s next big iPhone factory. Along with Apple, now Samsung is also thinking about shifting some part of its production from Vietnam. Trump’s government has imposed 46 percent tariff on Vietnam.
