It is being claimed that an 8 year old Hindu child was harassed so much that he was forced to leave school. Recently there were reports of violence against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh and now discrimination has started in London too.

The discussion about the misbehavior with a Hindu student at Vickers Green Primary School in London has intensified. According to the report of ‘NDV’, Insight UK, an organization representing the British Hindu and Indian community, has expressed concern citing religious discrimination. An 8 year old Hindu child was harassed in school just because he had a tilak on his forehead. Mamasu was harassed so much that he was forced to leave school.

When the controversy escalated, what did the school say in defense?

The school told the child that applying Tilak is not mandatory for anyone in Hindu religion, hence they will not allow it, whereas Hijab is mandatory. UK Insight has spoken to the local education authority on this issue. Importantly, the school principal kept a constant eye on the child during breaks, due to which he became more scared. That child had started shying away from even playing.
