Not only the size of the room, some other things also decide the need for AC. If the ceiling of the room is high then more tonne AC is required. If there is a lot of direct sunlight in the room, then it is better to take a higher capacity AC for cooling. Even if more people live in the room or there are more electronic items, a larger tonne AC will be better. If there are too many TVs, computers or other electronic devices, they also generate heat. In such a situation, an AC with higher capacity is better.
