Arijit Singh took part in the reality show ‘Gurukul’ at the age of 18. He could not become the winner of this show. He reached 6th position. In this show, face off was seen between Gurukul and Indian Idol Contestants.
Arijit’s song rejected
Arijit won the show and created a studio with 1 million prize money. However, he did not get the stardom that he was looking for. After this, he came under the eyes of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and got a chance to sing in Ranbir Kapoor’s film Savariya. He sang song Yun Shabnami. However, his song was rejected.

Then Arijit Singh’s luck changed
After this, Arijit Singh shifted to Mumbai in 2006 and then his career started in music. He went to the song ‘Phir Mohabbat’ for Murder 2. His song was liked. In 2013, he got a name-fame from Aashiqui 2’s song ‘Tum Hi Ho’.
