The ‘Gunday’ actor’s transformation did not happen suddenly. In an old Instagram post, Arjun Kapoor had told that it took him about 15 months to reach his goal. The biggest part of his routine was walking, a habit he had adopted since childhood.

Talking to ETimes, he told why walking always helps him. He said, ‘When I was fat, even as a child, I believed in one thing, nothing was better than walking. Even today when I want to lose weight, all I think about is getting out and walking. Just be active. You sit and keep eating your favorite food and then complain that you are not losing weight, this will not work.

According to The Indian Express, the ‘2 States’ actor had once told that he is a big foodie by nature. But when he decided to focus on fitness, he gave up junk food completely. He also avoided overeating and stayed away from sugar and high-carb foods. Instead, he used to eat fresh vegetables, fruits and high-protein food so that he could remain energetic and healthy throughout the day.

Arjun’s daily diet plan was also revealed in an Instagram post. In the morning he would have a high-protein breakfast, mostly eggs, and then leave for his first gym session. He had lunch around 1:30 pm, which included a Greek souvlaki wrap. After this he remained busy in meetings and calls.

In the evening he used to eat turkey sushi, which contains protein, carbs, fiber and plenty of energy. This kept him active for other workouts of the day. For dinner he used to eat Turkish kebab, which was served with muhammara sauce, mint chutney and pickled vegetables.

In 2024, Arjun Kapoor made a big revelation about his health. He told that he has Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. It is an autoimmune disease in which metabolism slows down and weight increases. In an old interview, he had told The Hollywood Reporter India, ‘I have not always talked about this, but I have Hashimoto’s disease, in which the thyroid gland is affected. In such a situation, the body quickly gains weight because it is always under stress, like in fight-or-flight mode.

He also told, ‘I suffered from this disease at the age of 30. My mother (Mona Shourie Kapoor) and my sister (Anshula Kapoor) also had this problem. If I look back today, I understand how my body kept changing during the films. From 2015-16 till now, I have been continuously struggling with this physical trauma, and during that time, some of my films also did not perform as per expectations.
