Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi: Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi is on a four -day visit to Bhutan. This visit of General Dwivedi is going to be special in many ways. Army chief Dwivedi has gone to the neighboring country in the backdrop of China’s efforts to strengthen the infrastructure around Doklam located strategically. His visit can make the relationship between the two countries stronger with good military relations between India and Bhutan. This can increase China’s tension.

Officials said that General Dwivedi Raja Jigme Khesar will meet Namgyal Wangchuk in Bhutan’s capital Thimpu and talk to Bhutan Army Chief Lieutenant General Battu Shering. The army chief’s visit from 30 June to 3 July is taking place amid the changing regional security scenario. With this, he has gone to neighboring country seven weeks after India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ to target terrorist bases in Pakistani regions.

Along with Doklam, Chinese activities can also be discussed hot

The Indian Army said, “The purpose of this journey is to further strengthen the permanent bilateral defense cooperation between the two countries.” It is expected that in the conversation with General Dwivedi’s Bhutanese dialogues, the situation of the Doklam plateau as well as Chinese activities in the area will be like Chinese activities.

In the year 2017, the ‘Doklam Tri-Junction’ has strengthened the strategic relations between India and Bhutan in the last few years under the backdrop of 73 days of deadlock between Indian and Chinese soldiers. The Doklam Plateau is considered an important area for the strategic interest of India. In 2017, the deadlock on ‘Doklam Tri-Junction’ began when China tried to build a road in the region, which Bhutan claims to be its area.
