Army Secrets: What things cannot a soldier tell even after retiring from the army? You have to keep a secret all your life

Retired soldiers are never allowed to reveal the planning of military operations, their implementation methods, troop movements or tactical decisions. Decades old missions such as anti-terrorism operations, surgical strikes or any action taken on the border remain classified. This is because such information can reveal useful patterns to enemy forces.

Any document which is marked confidential, secret or top secret has to be kept secret throughout its life. Sharing even a small part of such material can expose weaknesses in India’s defense posture.
