Aruna rani on mehmood: Once in the Bollywood corridors, there used to be a lot of discussion about the affair of Mahmood and Aruna Irani. Mahmud was one of the top stars at that time. The actress fell in love with the comedian. But then Mahmud and Arun’s relationship was also broken. Now Aruna has revealed the reason for his breakup with Mahmud.

Talking to Lehren Retro, Aruna said, “Dance director Suresh Bhatt told me, ‘You put grass to Mahmood, that can give you work.’ But there I kept saying yes and no to Mahmud, but he started giving me work on that basis too and gradually a soft corner in my heart.

The veteran actress said that Mahmood never gave any reaction to the rumors of her marriage, so it had a negative effect on her career. He said, “Vinod Khanna asked Mahmood if I could play the role of his heroine in his film. He asked Mahmood if we are both married. Mahmood just looked at me and smiled and said nothing. In this way he made my career and ruined my career.”
Mahmood refused to marry
Aruna also told that even though she wanted to marry Mahmood, she refused to marry her and stopped working with her. Aruna said, “Her family stopped her from working with me and so she stopped working with me.”
Work was closed after breakup
The actress further said that after her break-up, she stopped getting work. The veteran actress said, “After that I did not have any relationship with her, but I had the responsibility of my family and I started paying attention to it. No one was giving me work after this break-up. I started singing. I have never done the complex that I was singing after playing the role of the main heroine. I just wanted to get out and earn.”
Aruna Iranian Work Front
Talking about Aruna Irani’s work front, she was last seen in the 2025 historical action drama Kesari Veer. However, the film, released in May 2025 last month, did not perform a special performance at the box office. In this film, Sunil Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, Soraj Pancholi and Akanksha Sharma played important roles.
