Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has finally been allotted the government bungalow. In the Civil Lines of Delhi, he has been given a type-8 government bungalow on behalf of the Central Government. The central government had confirmed during the hearing of the Delhi High Court that Arvind Kejriwal would be allotted the bungalow within 10 days.
Arvind Kejriwal’s new house address has now become ’95 Lodhi Estate’. Actually, AAP is a national party and Arvind Kejriwal is entitled to a government bungalow as its head. However, he got this bungalow after a year’s fight.
Second largest bungalow in government residence
Arvind Kejriwal moved the High Court after the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry delayed allotting the bungalow. On September 25, it was said in the court on behalf of the government that the AAP convenor will get a bungalow within the next 10 days.
After this, on Monday (October 6), the government named 95 Lodhi Estate Bungalow to Arvind Kejriwal. It is a type-8 bungalow, which is the second largest bungalow in government residence.
Arvind Kejriwal was living in AAP MP Ashok Mittal’s government bangles
After resigning from the post of Chief Minister of Delhi in September 2024, Arvind Kejriwal left 6, Flagstaff road bungalow (Apna CM residence) in October. He lived in this bungalow during his tenure. After this, Arvind Kejriwal was living in a government bungalow allotted to AAP MP Ashok Mittal.
Arvind Kejriwal’s lawyer presented this side
In fact, in the 2014 Directorate of Estates, it has been said that the president and convenor of political parties has the right to government accommodation. However, the type of bungalow is not mentioned in it. At the same time, Arvind Kejriwal’s lawyer, while presenting his side in the High Court, said that the presidents of the National Party have always got a type-8 bungalow in history.
