‘AAP’ stance and political message
AAP leaders have said that the party is not going to be afraid of this kind of raid and will continue to raise voice against corruption and wrong policies in the country. He alleged that the Modi government is using agencies like ED to weaken opposition parties. However, the ED says that this action is only for investigation and further steps will be taken on the basis of evidence.
The scope of ED action and investigation
The ED has done this under Section 17 of the Prevention of Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA). The ED said that under the investigation, 13 different locations are undergoing raids. It also includes the residence of Saurabh Bhardwaj. The agency suspects that there have been financial irregularities in the contract related to hospital construction. Many documents and evidence have been collected before this case, but now the ED is looking for new links.
