While addressing a huge public meeting organized at the party headquarters in Darussalam, Hyderabad on Sunday night (14 February 2026) on the occasion of the 68th foundation day of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), MP Asaduddin Owaisi made a scathing attack on the central government and sectarian forces. In the presence of MLAs from Bihar and newly elected body members from Maharashtra, Owaisi made a new and sensational claim regarding the SIR Social Impact Record/Survey. He alleged that BJP is now trying to snatch away citizenship (citizenship) of citizens through SIR instead of NPR and NRC.
At the beginning of his speech, Owaisi appealed to the public to switch on the lights of their cellphones and paid tribute to the 40 CRPF soldiers martyred in Pulwama on 14 February 2019. He said that we remember the martyrdom of those brave soldiers and expect the Prime Minister to root out the terrorism being spread from the neighboring country.
Owaisi showed tough style
Owaisi said in a very harsh tone that today those demanding their rights in the country are being declared enemies. He said that the Dalit who believes in Ambedkar’s Constitution is considered an enemy by communal forces. The tribal who talks about saving his land or the unemployed youth who asks for a job is made the enemy of the administration. Our cap, beard and hijab of our daughters irritate the eyes of some people. Owaisi stressed that the beauty of this country lies in its different religions and their places of worship. He mentioned the dream of the elders where along with the sound of temple bells, the prayers of ‘Hayy al-Salah’ (call to prayer) should also echo from the mosques.
most important part of speech
The most important part of the speech was on documents related to citizenship. Owaisi claimed that after Bihar, now SIR is going to happen in Telangana and Maharashtra. He appealed to the workers to register their ‘genuine’ names with promptness. Citing an old decision of the Supreme Court, he said that the Election Commission does not have the right to prove anyone’s citizenship, but the government can try this through the ECI.
68th foundation day of the party
Referring to Mecca Masjid of Hyderabad and the historical rebellion of Maulvi Alauddin, Owaisi told the story of the expansion of his party. Amidst the increasing activism of the party in Maharashtra and Bihar, this speech is being considered as a big political exercise to strengthen its reach among the minorities and Dalits. On the 68th foundation day of the party, Owaisi not only showed his strength, but also started a new political debate for the coming days by presenting the issue of citizenship in a new form (SIR).
