Troubled by the allegations of promoting conversion in Khargone in Madhya Pradesh, Aruna Upadhyay, the only Hindu woman councilor of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), Asaduddin Owaisi’s party in Madhya Pradesh, has resigned from the party.
In a letter written to the Central Office of AIMIM in Hyderabad on July 14, she said that she was resigning from the membership of the core committee and the party for personal reasons. Aruna Upadhyay told reporters that she is not going to join any other party, but she will continue to work as an independent councilor of Khargone Municipal Council.

He said that he has resigned due to allegations of conversion and persistent harassment. Aruna’s husband and some others allegedly accused him of converting people into Islam.
Election was won from Muslim seat
