Asia Cup Controversy: Instead of ending, the controversy regarding Asia Cup 2025 has flared up further. The ongoing tussle between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding the trophy has now reached the level of objectionable statements. Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board and head of Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Mohsin Naqvi is once again in controversy. A video going viral on social media has shocked the entire cricket world.
Controversy continues regarding Asia Cup trophy
Actually, India won the title by defeating Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final. Controversy started after the match when the Indian team refused to accept the trophy. According to reports, BCCI had refused to participate in the trophy ceremony organized in Dubai. At the same time, ACC chief Mohsin Naqvi clearly said that he will hand over the trophy only when the members of the Indian team come to collect it themselves and that too in an official function in Dubai. Since then the trophy is lying in the ACC office and there is tension between the two countries regarding it.
“Indian team called terrorists”
Now a video is going viral, in which a person standing with Mohsin Naqvi is seen making hateful remarks against India. In the video he says, “When the Indian team was not taking the trophy, our chairman was patient, but later he handled the team like terrorists. Naqvi, who is the Home Minister of Pakistan, brought the trophy in the car. Now the whole of India is running after the trophy.”
The surprising thing is that in the video, Mohsin Naqvi was seen smiling at the words of that person and did not protest in any way. This attitude has spread anger and resentment among cricket fans and experts in India.
All eyes on the reaction of BCCI and ICC
After this statement, now the reaction from BCCI to ICC is awaited. At the same time, cricket experts say that Mohsin Naqvi’s silence is an indication that he has given indirect support to indecent language.
According to sources, the Asia Cup trophy dispute can now be discussed in the ICC meeting to be held next month. It is believed that BCCI will register its objection in this meeting and may demand a formal apology from PCB.
