Just before the T20 World Cup 2026, the Australian cricket team will tour Pakistan, where a series of 3 T20 matches will be played. This series will be important for both the teams in terms of preparations for the T20 World Cup, it will give Australia a chance to adapt to the environment on the pitches of the subcontinent. PCB has announced the dates of the matches.
Australia cricket team will reach Lahore on 28 January. This series will be important for Australia, especially when many key players of the team are in the recovery period. Australia’s Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, Tim David are recovering. Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi is also injured, he got injured while playing in the Big Bash League. Before the T20 World Cup 2026, this series will be a good opportunity for both to test their combination.

The T20 World Cup 2026 will start from February 7, in which a total of 20 teams will participate. Pakistan is in Group A and Australia is in Group B. PCB COO Sumair Ahmed Syed welcomed the visiting team and described this series as a big event for the cricket fans of Pakistan.
He said, “We are excited to host Australia for a three-match T20 series in Lahore. This tour is a great start to the year for Pakistan cricket fans and I request them to come in large numbers during the series to cheer on both the teams as they finalize their preparations for the T20 World Cup.”

Pakistan team will play all its matches in T20 World Cup 2026 in Sri Lanka, if the team reaches the semi-finals or final then that match will also be held there otherwise it will be held in India. Australia cricket team is included in Group B, all the matches of this group will also be held in Sri Lanka.
