India Passenger Vehicle Q1 Results: The country’s automobile sector has seen a jump of 22 percent during the first quarter (April-June) of FY 2025-26. Industry Body Siam (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) says that the export of passengers vehicles, two -wheelers and commercial vehicle segment has increased the export of vehicles due to excellent performance of the two -wheeler and commercial vehicle segment.
SIAM says 14,57,461 units were exported to all segments during the June quarter, while 11,92,566 units were exported in the same period during the last financial year (2024-25). That is, it has increased by 22 percent.
Passenger vehicle record exports
During the first quarter, passenger vehicles have seen a jump of about 13 and 2,04,330 units were exported. The highest of these is the shipment so far. During the last financial year, these figures were 1,80,483 units during the same period. Siam says that the strong demand in West Asia and American markets and neighboring markets like Sri Lanka and Nepal have been growing due to recovery. Along with this, free trade agreement with Australia has also helped in exports of vehicles.
During the first quarter, the country’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India has exported 96,181 units, of which 37 percent more than the previous year. During the same period of the last financial year, Maruti had exported 66,962 units of vehicles, that is, Maruti is at the forefront of passenger vehicle exports.
Maruti Suzuki’s great performance
Rahul Bharti, Senior Executive Officer of Maruti Suzuki’s corporate affairs, says that for the last four years, the company has topped the rest in the case of export of vehicles. He said that during the first quarter of FY 2025, the company’s export share has crossed 47 percent, this is the record so far.
Similarly, Hyundai Motors has exported 48,140 units during the first quarter, which is 13 percent more than the same period last year. Last year, Hyundai exported 42,600 units.
Similarly, the export of two-wheelers increased to 11,36,942 units in the April-June quarter, which is 23 percent more than the 9,23,148 units of the same period last year. In the first quarter, the export of total commercial trains was 19,427 units, which is an increase of 23% on an annual basis. Similarly, in the June quarter of this financial year, the export of three -wheelers also increased by 34% to 95,796 units on an annual basis.
