Before the Bihar assembly elections, Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati of Jyotish Peeth made a big announcement. He said that he will support the independent candidates who will take the resolution of cow protection. In this episode, he will start his “Gau Raksha Sankalp Yatra” from Sitamarhi district from Saturday.

Addressing the press conference, Swami Avimukteshwaranand said that such independent candidates will be identified in all the 243 assembly seats in the state who show commitment to cow protection. He said, “At least one such candidate will contest from each constituency, which will be dedicated to protect Gomata. Such candidates will get my blessings.”

Swami Avimukteshwaranand alleged that till now no political party has taken the issue of cow protection seriously. According to him, when the nomination process is completed, then the list of independents who will be supported. Shankaracharya said that atrocities on Gomata are increasing in the country, while various parties who came to power did not take concrete steps in this direction. He appealed directly to the voters to vote for only those candidates who consider cow slaughter as a sin and promise to work for cow protection in accordance with the sentiments of Hindu society.

Regarding this journey starting from Sitamarhi, he said that even though resources are limited, their principles are firm. “Our principles are associated with our ancestors, Vedas, scriptures and Indian culture. This is our strength,”

Export of beef inside the country under Modi’s rule- Swami

Swami Avimukteshwaranand also questioned the BJP -led central government. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi talks about cow protection, but the reality is that the export of beef in the country is continuously increasing. He called it very shocking and worrying. He said that the time has come to organize Hindus on the issue of cow protection. “We have decided that the struggle will continue until concrete steps are taken in this direction to stop cow slaughter.”

Thus, the issue of cow protection in Bihar elections has given rise to a new debate. Now it has to be seen how much support the public and independent candidates give this campaign of Swami Avimukteshwaranand.
