Senior Samajwadi Party leader and former cabinet minister Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam have been registered in the Gunna Register of the Rampur District Jail. According to Jail Superintendent Rajesh Yadav. Azam Khan has been allotted prisoner number 425 and Abdullah Azam has been allotted prisoner number 426.
Azam Khan and his son have been kept in Barrack Number-1 i.e. Quarantine Barrack in Rampur jail for ten days. According to the jail manual, both are being given porridge, gram and tea in food and breakfast. According to the CT register, both have been given prisoner numbers of 425 and 426.
Both were medically examined
Rampur Jail Superintendent Rajesh Yadav said that whenever a new prisoner comes to the jail, as per the jail manual, the medical examination of Azam Khan and Abdullah Azam is also completed. He was shifted to the quarantine barrack only after health checkup. Treatment is given according to the medical history given by him.
Complete action as per jail manual
Jail Superintendent said that order has been received from Rampur MP-MLA Special Court, in which it has been directed that further action in relation to both of them should be taken completely as per the jail manual. Besides, it has also been made clear in the order that it will be mandatory to take permission from the court before transferring Azam Khan from jail.
It is noteworthy that SP leader Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam have been sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000 each by the MP-MLA special court of Rampur in two PAN card cases. After which both of them have been sent to Rampur jail, they are being kept in the jail like normal prisoners.
Let us tell you that Azam Khan was released on bail from Sitapur jail 55 days ago on 23rd September after spending 23 months in jail, but his freedom lasted only 55 days, after which now he has to go to jail again in the PAN card case.
