Olympic bronze medalist wrestler Bajrang Punia and former wrestler Vinesh Phogat expressed condolences to the innocent people who lost their lives in the blast near Red Fort metro station on Monday. A car exploded near Gate No. 1 of Delhi’s Red Fort metro station on Monday evening, killing nine people. Many others were injured. The explosion at a busy traffic signal spread panic in the Old Delhi area.
The incident comes just hours after Jammu and Kashmir Police busted an international terror module linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind in Faridabad and recovered 2,900 kg of explosives and weapons.

Bajrang Punia wrote on Twitter, “Today I am saddened by the death of innocent people in the car explosion near Red Fort metro station in Delhi. This is a very heart-wrenching and devastating incident. In this hour of grief, I stand with the families of the victims of this incident and express my deepest condolences. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. I also appeal to the government to immediately ensure a transparent and impartial investigation into this incident.”
Earlier, Team India coach Gautam Gambhir said, “I am saddened by the loss of life and property in the explosion in Delhi. I pray for strength to the families of the deceased and speedy recovery of the injured.”
