After India and Pakistan, Bangladesh has announced a 16 -member team for the Asia Cup. Litton Das will captain the team and wicketkeeper batsman Nurul Hasan has returned in the squad, who has returned to Bangladesh’s T20 team after 3 years. Apart from him, off-spinner Saif Hasan has also returned to the T20 team. He was last seen playing in the 2023 Asian Games.
Talking about Nurul Hasan, he played the last T20 match for Bangladesh in November 2022, since then he was running out of the team. He was knocking on the door of return to the team for a long time and was continuously doing well in domestic matches. He has scored 445 runs in the career of 46 T20 matches so far.
Mehdi Hasan Miraj turned out
The selectors have not placed Mehdi Hasan Miraj in the squad. However, he has got a place in the reserve list. Mehdi Hasan’s T20 figures are not very good, so far he has 418 runs in 34 matches and only 18 wickets. Apart from him, Tanveer Islam and Soumya Sarkar have also got a place among the reserve players.
Talking about the Bangladesh team, it has been placed in Group B of Asia Cup 2025, in which Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Hong-Kong are also present. Bangladesh will start its Asia Cup campaign with Hong-Kong on 11 September.
