Bangladesh Weird News: A surprising mistake of Bangladesh’s Ministry of Education has come to light. The ministry appointed a person who had died two years ago. The Department of Secondary and Higher Education of Bangladesh recently released a list of new deployment of 135 professors under BCS General Education cadre. The list also included the name of Mohammad Jamal Uddin, who was appointed the principal of Mir Ismail Hussain College in Kurigram district. The shocking thing is that Jamal Uddin died on 12 April 2023. At that time he was the head of the Department of Physics in Kurigram Government College.

Tahmina Shabnam, wife of the deceased Jamal Uddin and the whole family is upset with this news. Two years ago today, on 15 March 2023, his daughter Feruz Saadaf Abontika committed suicide. Abontika was a student of Law of Jagannath University. Prior to the suicide, he had accused his classmate Amman Siddiqui and Assistant Proctor Deen Islam of constant mental harassment in the Facebook post. After this, both were also arrested, currently they are out on bail.

Tahmina Shabnam expressed grief and said that till now my daughter has not got justice. Now our suffering has once again been crushed by giving posting to my dead husband. This is not only administrative negligence, but the biggest example of human insensitivity.

Ministry of Education silence and social media displeasure
No clarification has come from the Ministry of Education so far on the surprising mistake, but there is a sharp response on this subject on social media. People are questioning the flaws of the system, lack of data management and accountability regarding this matter. Bangladesh’s bureaucracy has faced criticism for wrong data many times before.
