A BCCI official was quoted as saying by Inside Sport, “We have to understand that this is a very delicate situation. We are in constant touch with the government regarding the changes in diplomatic situations. We have not heard anything yet where there is any talk of banning Bangladeshi players from the IPL. So yes, Mustafizur Rahman will play in the IPL. Bangladesh is not an enemy country.”
This statement of BCCI has come at a time when political relations between India and Bangladesh are not in a very good condition. The people of India are very angry over the violence against minorities in Bangladesh. Some people in India have even threatened that all the matches in which Bangladeshi players will play will be disrupted.
KKR is also being criticized
Kolkata Knight Riders bought Mustafizur Rahman in the auction for Rs 9.20 crore. Even after the violence in Bangladesh, KKR is being heavily criticized for buying Rahman, KKR has even been called anti-national on social media.
