Bangladesh News: The situation is getting worse since last year’s coup in Bangladesh. Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s ancestral house in Sirajganj district of Bangladesh was attacked and vandalized. The officials have constituted a three -member committee to investigate this incident.
Controversy over parking
On 8 June 2025, a guest went to Kachhibari located in Sirajganj district with his family. Kachhribari is also known as Ravindra Kachhribari or Ravindra Memorial Museum. According to BD News.com, he had a dispute with an employee at the entrance for motorcycle parking fee there. The visitor was then allegedly locked in an office room and was beaten up.
Locals, who were agitated by the incident, staged a protest by forming a human chain on Tuesday. Later, the mob attacked and vandalized the auditorium of Kachhribadi and beat up a director of the institute.
Committee formed to investigate the case
The BSS news agency said that after this incident, the Archaeological Department has constituted a three -member inquiry committee to investigate the attack. Mohammad Habibur Rahman, the patron of Kachhribari, said that the authority has temporarily suspended the entry of visitors to Kachhribari due to unavoidable circumstances.
The BSS quoted Rahman as saying that the inquiry committee has been asked to submit the report within the next five days. The monarchy division has an ancestral home and revenue office of the Kachhibari Tagore family located in Shahzadpur. Rabindranath Tagore composed many of his literary works while living in this mansion.
At present, there is a fierce protest against the Chief Government Chief Mohammad Yunus in Bangladesh. Many political parties and student organizations, including Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), are demonstrating everywhere in the country to hold elections in a democratic manner.
