Bangladesh actress arrested: In the midst of political upheaval in Bangladesh, actress Nusrat Faria was arrested from Hazrat Shahzal International Airport in Dhaka. She was preparing to go to Thailand on Sunday (May 18, 2025). He is accused of inciting violence and involvement in the attempt to murder during the 2024 student agitation. Nusrat has played the role of Sheikh Hasina in the biopic ‘Mujib: The Making of a Nation’.

According to Bangladeshi newspaper Prothom Aloe, the 31 -year -old actress was detained at the Immigration Checking Post while going to Thailand. For Nusrat Faria, an arrest warrant was issued in connection with a case registered on charges of attempt to murder during anti -government protests. Due to these protests, Sheikh Hasina had to resign and after that she moved to India. Budda Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police Shafiqul Islam confirmed Prothom Alo’s arrest to the actress.

Police is questioning Nusrat

According to Police Commissioner Shafiqul Islam, Faria was arrested and taken to Vatara police station and then handed over to Dhaka Metropolitan Police Detective Branch (DB). He is currently being questioned.

Nusrat Faria got a lot of recognition for the role of Sheikh Hasina in the 2023 film ‘Mujib: The Making of a Nation’. Made in Joint Venture of Bangladesh and India, the film was directed by late Indian director Shyam Benegal.
