Kolkata Knight Riders included Bangladesh bowler Mustafizur Rahman in their squad for a huge sum of Rs 9.2 crore. Chennai Super Kings was also showing interest in buying Mustafizur, but KKR won the final bid. New Zealand player Tim Seifert was also bought by KKR in the IPL 2026 auction.

The IPL 2026 auction had the highest purse balance after Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR had Rs 64.3 crore. He first bought Cameron Green for Rs 25.2 crore. After this he also spent Rs 18 crore for Mathisha Pathirana. After this, KKR made the third highest bid on Mustafizur Rahman.
