Amid controversy related to Ram Swaroop Memorial University (SRMU), there has been news of great relief for the university administration and students. The Bar Council of India (BCI) has issued a letter related to recognition to the university, which has been confirmed to increase the approval by 2026.
According to a letter issued by BCI, Shri Ram Swaroop Memorial University, Barabanki’s Institute of Legal Studies has been approved for three -year LLB course and five -year BBA LLB (Honors) Integrated Degree course. Apart from this, five -year -old BA LLB (Honors) Integrated Course has also been allowed.
What is said in the letter?
The letter clearly states that 60-60 students have been allowed to enter each section, while 60-60 students can be admitted in two sections of BA LLB (Honors). This approval will be valid for the upcoming academic session 2025-26.
Earlier, the students raised serious questions about their future on the university administration. The students alleged that due to non -renewal of timely recognition, their degrees are clouded by crisis.

Recently, the students had created a ruckus in the university campus about this, after which the police had to lathi -charged. This action had given the dispute even more. Now after this letter of BCI, the worry of students has gone away to a great extent.
The letter also clarified that the university will have to follow the rules of legal education and all the guidelines of BCI. Along with this, within six months, the university will also have to submit a notarized Compliance affidavit.
