The Indian domestic cricket tournament Dilip Trophy is scheduled to begin on August 28. In this, Tilak Verma can captain the South Zone team. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has returned the zone format for the upcoming season, in which a total of 6 teams are going to participate. These 6 teams will be named East Zone, West Zone, South Zone, North Zone, Central Zone and North-East Zone. Now a report by Indian Express has revealed that Tilak Verma is going to captain the South Zone team.

According to The Indian Express, Tilak Verma will be the captain of the South Zone team, while Mohammad Azharuddin will play the role of the vice -captain of the team. The South Zone squad will include many famous players, including Sai Kishore, Devdutt Padikkal, N Jagdishan and Vijaykumar Vaishak. Sai Sudarshan, who is currently playing Test series in England, has been excluded from the team.
This will not be the first time Tilak Verma will be captaining a team. He was seen captaining the Hyderabad team several times in the last season. Last year, news came that BCCI can completely eliminate the zonal system, but now the same zonal system has been returned. It was decided in a meeting of BCCI in March this year, which will be implemented in the upcoming domestic season.
6 zonal teams have been prepared in the Dilip Trophy, including players from 38 domestic teams. The Dilip Trophy will begin on August 28 and the final match will be played on 11 September. Last season teams were named India A, India B, India C and India D, in which India A had won the title.
