BCCI Central Contracts 2026: Big reshuffle in Central Contract! BCCI’s list of 30 names, blame falls on Virat-Rohit

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the central contracts for the 2025-26 season. This time the list has surprised the cricket fans. The biggest news is that Team India’s veteran players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have suffered a big shock. Both the players, who were in the top A+ category till last season, have been kept in the lower grade C this time. The main reason for which is believed to be that both the players are now representing India only in ODIs.

These players got place in Grade A

According to the new central contract, Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja have been included in Grade A. Shubman Gill is currently the captain of the Test and ODI team and his consistent performance has taken him to this grade. Jasprit Bumrah remains the most reliable fast bowler of the team. Ravindra Jadeja may have retired from T20 cricket, but considering his important role in Test and ODI, he has been kept in the top grade. At the same time, India’s T20 captain Surya is also out of Grade A.

Grade A+ system ended

This time BCCI has made a big change in the central contract system. Grade A+, which was considered the highest category till last year, has been completely abolished. After this, now Grade A has become the highest category. Only three players have got a place in this top grade in the 2025-26 season.
