BCCI Implements New Rule For Team India Players: A 5-match T20 series is being played between India and South Africa. Before this, Team India has also played a series of 2 Test and 3 ODI matches with the South African team. At the same time, now the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken a big decision during the T20 series. BCCI has issued a new order for the players of ODI and T20 team, under which, all the players of ‘White Ball Format’ will have to play at least 2-2 matches in an important domestic tournament and this rule will be applicable for junior as well as senior players.
BCCI issued orders for players
According to media reports, BCCI, taking a big decision, has issued an order for all the players of India’s ODI and T20 team. In this order, all the players have been asked to play at least two matches in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. This decision has been taken to maintain the match fitness of the players and to strengthen domestic cricket. Vijay Hazare Trophy is an important domestic List A tournament of Indian cricket, which is going to start from December 24, 2025. This decision has been taken especially keeping in mind those senior players who have not been able to play domestic cricket for a long time due to international schedules. Under this rule of BCCI, whenever a central contract player is free from national duty, it will be mandatory for him to participate in the domestic tournament. With this, not only will the players be able to practice matches continuously, but young players of domestic cricket will also get a chance to learn from their seniors.
Rohit-Virat will also take part in Vijay Hazare Trophy
This year, Vijay Hazare Trophy i.e. List-A tournament is going to run from December 24, 2025 to January 18, 2026, in which Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are scheduled to play. Because Virat has already informed Delhi Cricket Association about his availability. According to reports, he is going to play two matches. At the same time, Virat played his last match in Vijay Hazare Trophy 16 years ago in 2010. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma will also be seen playing in this tournament. Rohit last played in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on October 17, 2010.
