IPL 2025 New rules for Rain Interruption: The last phase of IPL 2025 is going on, meanwhile the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued some new rules for the tournament. Additional 2 hours of additional time has been added to the next matches of the tournament. This change has been taken due to the possibilities of rain. On May 17, the match of RCB and Kolkata Knight Riders to be held in Bengaluru was lost.
On May 20, there will be a total of 8 matches in the league stage after the CSK vs RR match, out of which 7 are to be played in the evening. The match to be held in the afternoon should end at 6:50 pm as per rules, while the end of the match starting in the evening is 10:50. According to the new rules, if the match starting in the afternoon starts at 5:30 pm, then not a single over will be deducted. At the same time, the match in the evening can start at 9:30 pm without a cut of over.
The law with additional time of 2 hours is applied only to playoff matches. Since the IPL 2025 has resumed after suspension and due to the onset of monsoon in India, more and more games have been done, the additional time rule has also been applied to league matches. Let us tell you that so far in IPL 2025, 3 matches have been rained by rain.
The IPL 2025 tournament was suspended due to India-Pakistan tension. When the tournament resumed and the RCB vs KKR match was to be held in Bengaluru on 17 May, the toss could not be done in the match due to rain. Due to the possibility of this rain, the Bengaluru vs Hyderabad match to be held at Chinnaswamy Stadium on 23 May has been shifted from Bengaluru to Lucknow.
