Amid the ongoing controversy over the Asia Cup trophy, BCCI is preparing to corner Mohsin Naqvi. According to media reports, BCCI has prepared a list of allegations against Naqvi, which can be put forward in the ICC meeting. Apart from being the current PCB chairman, Naqvi is also the chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). BCCI has alleged that Naqvi has violated the operating rules made by ICC.
Quoting Telecom Asia Sport, sources have said that BCCI has prepared a list of allegations against Mohsin Naqvi. BCCI is planning to raise questions on his eligibility to hold sporting posts. Another surprising thing has come to light that BCCI is getting the support of Afghanistan Cricket Board in this.
Political relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan have deteriorated in the recent past, especially after the military strike in which three Afghan cricketers lost their lives. After this incident, the Afghan cricket team refused to play in the tri-series with Pakistan.
According to Telecom Asia Sport, a source said, “India will put pressure on Mohsin Naqvi to leave one of the posts (ACC or PCB Chairman), in this BCCI will get the support of the Afghanistan Board. Although Naqvi will leave any post, the possibility of this happening is less.”
It has also been revealed in the report that Mohsin Naqvi is already preparing to find a solution to the arguments presented by BCCI. Recently it was reported that due to the debate regarding constitutional amendment in Pakistan, Naqvi may not be able to be a part of the ICC meeting on November 7. Sumair Syed can attend the meeting in his place. If Naqvi comes to the meeting, the first question BCCI will raise is on the Asia Cup trophy.
