BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia says that he met PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi in Dubai. Saikia had come to meet Naqvi outside the ICC meeting held in Dubai, where there was discussion between the two on the Asia Cup trophy. Both admitted that they want to resolve the Asia Cup trophy dispute as soon as possible. According to Times of India, Sanjog Gupta and Imran Khawaja mediated this meeting of BCCI and PCB representatives.
According to Times of India, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said, “We had a meeting with PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi. Since this (Asia Cup Trophy) was not on the agenda of the official meeting, the ICC arranged a separate meeting with Naqvi. We would like to thank the ICC for making an effort to resolve this dispute. Both sides had a cordial discussion and both sides want to resolve this issue as soon as possible.”
Devjit Saikia also said that in the past many meetings have been held regarding this controversy and many important topics have been discussed. Let us tell you that Devjit Saikia was the representative of BCCI in the board meeting, while Arun Singh Dhumal represented BCCI in the CEC meeting.
On September 28, India had won the Asia Cup final by defeating Pakistan by 5 wickets, but even after a month has passed, Team India has not been able to get the Asia Cup trophy. Recently there were reports that Mohsin Naqvi might not come to the ICC meeting but the PCB Chief became a part of this meeting and also talked to the representatives of BACCI.
