Handshake rules in cricket: A major controversy has arisen in the Asia Cup 2025. In the match of India and Pakistan, the players of Team India did not join hands with Pakistani players after the match. After this, the Pakistan Cricket Board called it a violation of the rules. In this case, now the statement of a big officer of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has come out, which has said that there is no rule to join hands after the match in cricket, it is only for better interaction between two teams.
‘India will not join hands’
The Pakistan Cricket Board not joining the hand of Indian players so much that the board lodged a complaint with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). But BCCI officials have clearly stated from their statement that Indian players have not done anything wrong.
The BCCI official said in a conversation with PTI that ‘If you read the rule book, then there is no rule of joining hands with the opposition team. This is only a source of conversation, which is followed all over the world, but this is not a rule ‘. The BCCI official further said that ‘if this is not a rule, then the Indian cricket team cannot be forced to join hands with the opposition team, even when you do not have better relations with that country’.
The BCCI official said that there is no rule that tells the players to forcefully join hands after the match. Along with this, it was said by the BCCI that due to political tension between India and Pakistan, there is no point that the players of the Indian team should go and join hands with Pakistani players.
