The Indian women’s cricket team was to play a series against Bangladesh in December, which was decided to be cancelled. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has planned a new series in December itself. Let us tell you that Team India was going to play its first series against Bangladesh after winning the World Cup title, but considering the situation there, the board decided to cancel it.

According to the report of RevSportz, a 5-match T20 series will be played between India and Sri Lanka from December 21 to 30. All the matches of the series will be played at 2 venues (Visakhapatnam and Thiruvananthapuram). The first 2 matches of the series will be played at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium and the remaining 3 matches will be played at Greenfield International Stadium.

India and Bangladesh were to play a T20 series of 3 ODIs and the same number of matches, this was part of the ICC Future Tour Programme. The matches of the series were to be played in Kolkata and Cuttack. PTI quoted a BCCI source as saying that the board has not received approval to play the series against Bangladesh.

BCCI had written a letter

BCCI had written a letter to Bangladesh Cricket Board informing about the cancellation of the series. PTI quoted a Bangladesh Cricket Board official as saying, “We received a letter from BCCI, in which it has been said that the series will be cancelled. We are now waiting for the new dates.”

Indian men’s cricket team’s tour was also canceled

In August this year, the Indian men’s cricket team was to tour Bangladesh, a series of 3 ODI and 3 T20 matches was to be held between the two countries. Fans were curious about this tour, because Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were likely to play in it. This tour was also canceled due to the ongoing geopolitical tension in Bangladesh.
