Vice President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Rajeev Shukla has accused Pakistan of misleading Bangladesh. Bangladesh had refused to come to India for the T20 World Cup 2026 and had demanded to shift their matches to Sri Lanka, but this demand was rejected by the ICC due to scheduling constraints.
BCCI has made everything clear
ICC has now given Scotland place in T20 World Cup instead of Bangladesh. BCCI had also given assurance of the safety of Bangladeshi players, but the Bangladesh government did not allow its cricket team to go to India.
According to news agency ANI, BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla said, “We wanted the Bangladesh team to play in the World Cup. We assured them that the players will be given complete security and there will be no problem of any kind. Even after getting assurance of complete security, they decided not to play here and said that they will not send their team here.”

Rajiv Shukla further said in his statement, “Their (Bangladesh) government said that they cannot send their team to India and will play their matches only in Colombo. It is very difficult to change the schedule at the last moment.”
Rajiv Shukla lashed out at Pakistan
The BCC vice president alleged that Pakistan instigated the issue for its own benefit and tried to mislead Bangladesh. He said, “Pakistan is giving them false encouragement. Pakistan has no business in this matter, it is provoking and misleading Bangladesh. Pakistan should not do all this.”
Rajeev Shukla also said that Pakistan is also trying to mislead Bangladesh by presenting itself as a well-wisher.
