BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla has broken his silence on the reports that the Australian tour will be the last international tour of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Rajiv Shukla has rejected all these rumors and said that the decision of retirement is taken by the player himself. Talking to news agency ANI, Rajiv Shukla said, “Having Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the ODI squad is beneficial for us, because both are great batsmen. With their presence in the team, I think we will be successful in defeating Australia.”

On speculations about the last series of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla said, “As far as calling this the last tour for Rohit and Virat is concerned, there is nothing like that. We should never get involved in these things. This decision only depends on the players as to when they want to retire. It is absolutely wrong to call the Australian tour as their last tour.”

He also praised Team India for its 2-0 victory in the Test series against West Indies. This victory was necessary for us before going to Australia, because Australia always presents a tough challenge.”
