India vs South Africa 3 ODI match series is starting from 30th November. This will be Team India’s last ODI series in the year 2025. Meanwhile, there is news that BCCI is preparing to hold a meeting, in which the future of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in ODI cricket (Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma ODI Future) and their playing in the 2027 ODI World Cup is possible to be discussed.
The final ODI match of India vs South Africa series will be played on 6 December in Visakhapatnam. According to a report of Times of India, after this last ODI match, high officials of BCCI, Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar, Head Coach Gautam Gambhir can hold a meeting in Ahmedabad.
Nothing has been decided yet on whether Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will play in the 2027 World Cup or not. If Rohit and Virat are not able to play the 2027 World Cup, then in such a situation, there have been reports of the team management preparing a backup plan.
A BCCI source was quoted by Times of India as saying, “It is very important that players of the stature of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are made clear as to what the team management expects from them. They cannot play surrounded by uncertainties.” According to the report, BCCI has asked Rohit Sharma not to worry about his future and only focus on his fitness and performance.
The future of both the senior players seems to be in danger because Rohit and Virat will play ODI matches at an interval of several months. However, both of them had indicated that they were in good form in the series against Australia. On one hand, Rohit Sharma was the highest run scorer in the entire series by scoring 202 runs. He also scored a century. On the other hand, Virat Kohli had flopped in the first two ODI matches against Australia, but he also silenced his critics by scoring unbeaten 74 runs in the third match.
