The color of urine of many people changes, some people feel burning sensation while urinating and sometimes foam starts appearing while urinating. In such a situation, if foam is appearing in your urine again and again and it is not disappearing within a few seconds, then it is not right to ignore it considering it as a normal thing. In fact, according to many health experts, foam in urine can sometimes be an early sign of a serious kidney-related problem. When the kidneys are not able to filter the blood properly, the protein present in it starts coming out through urine. This condition is called proteinuria in medical language.

Is foam in urine a symptom of kidney damage?

Foam in urine does not always mean kidney failure, but it can definitely be a warning. Sometimes, urinating in a strong stream can also cause foam to form temporarily due to lack of water in the body or a diet high in protein. But if this problem persists for a long time then it is important to take it seriously. According to experts, seeing foamy urine for a long time can be a symptom of weak filtering capacity of the kidneys.

Early symptoms of kidney failure

If symptoms like swelling of hands, feet and face along with foam in urine, feeling of fatigue and weakness, loss of appetite, dark or smelly urine, shortness of breath, itching in skin and vomiting or nausea are seen, then these can be the initial symptoms of kidney failure.

What other diseases can foaming be a sign of?

Foam in urine often indicates not only kidney but also other diseases. In fact, excessive foam in urine can also indicate diabetes and high blood pressure. Apart from this, excessive foam can be seen in urine during heart related problems, pregnancy, stress and urine infection. Apart from this, health experts also say that if any serious disease is developing in the body, the first sign of it is found in urine only. In such a situation, if symptoms like foamy urine, dark yellow or brown color of urine, strong odor and burning sensation or blood in urine are seen, then you should immediately get checked by a doctor.
