Cyber crime cases: Incidents of cybercrime in India are continuously increasing. A recent report of Delhi -based media and tech company Detaids has revealed shocking. It has been told that due to cyber frauds in the year 2024, India has lost Rs 22,842 crore.

This year, so much loss is estimated

The Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C), established by the Ministry of Home Affairs, estimates that Indians will suffer a loss of Rs 1.2 lakh crore this year. The number of complaints of cyber crime has also risen in recent times. In 2024 alone, about twenty lakh complaints were filed, which was about 15.6 lakhs last year and it is ten times more than the complaints filed in 2019.

According to the NDTV report, the increasing complaints about cybercrime and the damage caused by India show that India’s digital criminals are becoming more clever and smart and their number is increasing in this country of about 290 lakh unemployed people.

Bank related frauds are also getting a lot

During this time, there has been a huge jump in the cases of bank related fraud. According to the report of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the number of such cases has increased by about eight times in the first six months of 2025-26 and the amount of loss during this period has also increased from Rs 2,623 crore to Rs 21,367 crore. Of these, 60 percent fraud cases are related to private sector banks, but the maximum loss of Rs 25,667 crore has been lost to the customers of the government bank.
