Before hearing Bihar SIR, the Election Commission’s reply in the Supreme Court, said- ‘It is not necessary to make the list of names made from the draft list public’

The Election Commission has told the Supreme Court that no voter’s name will be removed from the list without issuing notice during Bihar intensive voter revision (SIR). In the reply filed before the hearing in the Supreme Court on August 12, the Election Commission has said that it is doing its work in a legal manner. Such a law is not necessary that the list of names withdrawn from the draft list should be made public.

The order will be issued regarding the name of whose name will not be in the draft list: EC

The Commission has said that it will give full opportunity to all voters to hear and keep the documents, whose name will not be included in the draft list, a written order will be issued. Voters will be given the facility to appeal at 2 levels in protest against the written order. All this information will be given to those people who will be personally affected in this matter.

No rule to make separate list of missed names: Election Commission

The affidavit states that there is no rule to make a separate list of missed names in the draft list and the petitioners who filed the petition in the Supreme Court cannot ask the list as right. The petitioners should be imposed compensation to mislead the court.

People are being made aware: EC

The Election Commission has told the Supreme Court that it has issued advertisements in all the big newspapers of the country from time to time to deliver information to the voters. Press release is also being released regularly. People were made aware by sending SSS. Booth level officials (BLO) tried to confirm people from house to house, people who will become 18 years of age on 1 October 2025, their form is also being taken in advance. Due to the elderly, disabled or any other reason, the helpless voters are being fully assisted.
