Quinton de Kock International Cricket Comeback: South African wicketkeeper batsman Quinton de Kock has withdrawn his retirement from ODI and T20 International. De Kock played his last ODI match in the 2023 ODI World Cup, after which he retired. He played his last T20 International match in the 2024 T20 World Cup and like ODI, he also took retirement from T20 International. De Kock has once again started playing for South Africa in the white ball format. However, he has still not retired from the longest format of cricket.
Quinton de Kock has been included in South Africa’s T20 International and ODI squad. De Kock has so far scored 6770 runs in 155 ODI matches at an average of 45.74 and strike rate of 96.64. De Kock has been selected in the South African team for the ODI series against Pakistan. He has also been selected in the South African team for the T20 International series. He has scored 2584 runs in 92 T20 International matches.
Star players who came back from retirement to play international cricket again
1- Shaheed Afridi (Pakistan)
Pakistan’s explosive all-rounder Shahid Afridi is best known for his return from retirement. He said goodbye to international cricket several times and then came back to play. Afridi retired from international cricket after the 2011 World Cup, but returned in 2011. After this he made a comeback once again in 2016.
2- Ben Stokes (England)
England’s legendary all-rounder Ben Stokes had announced his retirement from ODI cricket in 2022, so that he could focus more on Test cricket, but he withdrew his decision of retirement in the 2023 ODI World Cup and returned to the team.
3- Mohammad Aamir (Pakistan)
Pakistan’s left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Amir retired at the age of 28 in December 2020 due to some disputes with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). But three years later, he took back his retirement and returned to the team to play T20 World Cup 2024 for Pakistan.
