Keeping in mind the 2027 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party has already started working on its election strategy. The party is especially preparing to strengthen its hold in those areas where it was not successful in the previous elections. In this series, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav will address the ‘Socialist Equality Brotherhood Rally’ in Dadri, Gautam Buddha Nagar on March 29. This is being seen as the beginning of the party’s election campaign.

Special focus on Western UP

This time Samajwadi Party is paying special attention to strengthening its social equation in Western Uttar Pradesh. The party’s strategy is to connect Jat and Gurjar voters along with PDA i.e. backward, Dalit and minority classes.

The rally to be organized in Dadri is being considered an important part of this strategy. Party leaders are busy preparing for a show of strength by mobilizing a large number of people in this rally.

Samajwadi Party had formed the government with full majority in the year 2012, but after that the party could not return to power in the 2017 and 2022 assembly elections.

In the 2022 elections, SP had won only 111 out of 403 seats. At that time, despite the alliance with Rashtriya Lok Dal, the expected success could not be achieved in Western UP.

BJP’s dominance in western UP

BJP had won all three assembly seats of Gautam Buddha Nagar district, Noida, Dadri and Jewar. Similarly, BJP had got lead in most of the seats in Ghaziabad, Meerut, Bulandshahr and Baghpat districts. Now the situation is that Rashtriya Lok Dal is in alliance with BJP, due to which the challenge of SP in Western UP has increased further.

responsibility given to the organization

To make the Dadri rally successful, the party has assigned special responsibility to the leaders of Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Baghpat and Hapur districts. All officials have been instructed to ensure participation of maximum people.

According to political experts, Jat and Gurjar voters have special influence in Dadri and surrounding areas, while there is also a good number of Dalit and minority voters. In such a situation, SP is trying to strengthen its political ground in Western UP by bringing all these sections on one platform through this rally.
