The 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup will run till 30 September-2 November, which is going to be hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Team India has been doing better year after year, but the dream of winning an ICC trophy is still incomplete. It is a shocking fact that India has got only one ICC final game in the last 5 years. Now India Womens Cricket Captain has sent a special message to the countrymen before the World Cup.
In the recently held 50-day countdown launch program, captain Harmanpreet Kaur said that playing in front of the home crowd is always a special experience. Kaur hoped that this time her team will try her best to win the trophy, a moment whose Indian fans have been waiting for a long time.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur described veteran cricketer Yuvraj Singh as a source of inspiration for himself. He said, “The World Cup tournament is always special, I always try to raise the name of my country proudly on such occasions. Whenever I see Yuvi Bhaiya (Yuvraj Singh), I get inspiration to see.”
Let me tell you that before the World Cup, India has to play a 3 ODI match series with Australia. Harmanpreet Kaur described this series as a good way for preparation. He said, “Playing against Australia is always a big challenge. The upcoming series against Australia will help us find out how well our preparations are. We have practiced very strongly, our good performance is the result of that.”
The World Cup tournament will be played in the round-robin format. Since 8 teams will participate in the tournament, each team will face each other once in the group stage. The tournament will start from India vs Sri Lanka match on 30 September.
