England’s band played

The England team, which came to chase the target of 272 runs, got off to a bad start as opener Jack Crawley was out after scoring only 6 runs. But Joe Root and Ben Duckett increased England’s hopes of victory by making a partnership of 117 runs. But in the span of 15 runs, both Root and Duckett lost their wickets. Root scored 61 runs and Duckett scored 61 runs.

At one time England had scored 129 runs at the loss of only one wicket, but within the next 36 runs they lost 5 wickets. Rehan Ahmed’s 27 runs brought England back into the match. Meanwhile, there came the storm of Jamie Overton, who played an inning of 34 runs in 17 balls. But in the end the England team could not even play the full 50 overs and the entire team was reduced to 252 runs.

This is a matter of concern for the England team just before the T20 World Cup 2026. England recently suffered a 1-4 defeat at the hands of Australia in the Ashes. After that, Sri Lanka has also defeated England in the first ODI match.
