Bengaluru Traffic Police Advisory For IPL 2026: The first match of IPL 2026 will be played on Saturday, March 28, between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. After this, the next match on the ground will be between RCB and Chennai Super Kings on 05 April. Advisory has been issued by Bengaluru Traffic Police for both the matches.

Let us tell you that after the release of the schedule of the first phase of IPL, after a few days it has been decided that the matches will be played in Bengaluru. After RCB won the trophy in the last season (IPL 2025), 11 people lost their lives in the stampede outside the stadium during the victory parade. Apart from this, many people were injured. Keeping this in mind, special strictness is being taken for the matches to be held in the stadium.

No parking allowed around the stadium

Keeping in mind the crowd, parking has not been allowed around the stadium. These include Queens Road between Balekundri Circle and CTO Junction, MG Road from Anil Kumble Circle to Queens Circle and the link road connecting MG Road to Cubbon Road.

Parking is also not allowed on Kubban Road, St. Mark’s Road, Museum Road, Kasturba Road, Central Street, Lavelle Road and Vittal Mallya Road. Roads inside Cubbon Park like King Road, Press Club area and Fountain Road will also be in no parking zone.

Officials said that vehicles parked in these areas can be fined. Apart from this, vehicles can also be taken by towing.

Where can cars be parked?

Many arrangements have been made for parking of vehicles on the day of the match. To reduce congestion, the police has arranged for special parking spaces. This includes St. Joseph’s Indian High School Ground located at Siddalingaiah Circle and St. Joseph’s European School Ground located on Museum Road.

Apart from this, other parking options include Freedom Park MLCP, Garuda Mall, UB City and Shivajinagar TTMC first floor. Officials have requested visitors to use these facilities to reduce traffic pressure near the stadium.

Entry and exit gate

Many entry and exit gates have been made for the movement of crowd. Entry is allowed through gates E-1 to E-3, E-18, E-19, E-22, E-23 from Cubbon Road, E-11 to E-17 from Link Road and E-05 and E-08 on Queens Road.

Whereas E-09 and E-9A gates will be used for exit. Gate E-10 is reserved for players, officials and VIPs.

For those using cabs and autos, the pickup points are at BRV Ground and Manekshaw Parade Ground. The drop point is near Gate No. 6 and Gate No. 3. Police have urged people to use BMTC buses and metro services.
