Bengaluru stampede: Royal Challengers Bangalore won their first IPL Trophy on June 3, 2025 under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar. This was also the first trophy of Virat Kohli playing for RCB from the first season, whose happiness was celebrated by his fans across the country. But on Wednesday, June 4, a major accident occurred in the celebration of RCB, 11 people died due to stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Now an FIR has been registered on 3 including franchise in this case.
The very next day after winning the trophy, RCB organized a big event at Chinnaswamy Stadium. All the players including Kohli arrived here, who had a huge crowd to see. But this celebration turned into mourning for 11 families, who lost their loved ones.

In the Bengaluru stampede case, the Bengaluru Police has registered an FIR against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Event Management Company DNA Entertainment Networks and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). All of them are accused of criminal negligence. In this case, the Karnataka High Court has also taken cognizance and sought a report from the government.
RCB announces Rs 10 lakh to the families of the deceased
Royal Challengers Bangalore issued a statement on Thursday and announced to provide assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the families of 11 people killed in the stampede.

The Karnataka State Cricket Association announced to give a help amount of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased.
