Best friend Russia will provide another defense system to India, how powerful is S-350 Vityaaj? Pakistan will cry tears of blood

To further strengthen India’s air defense, Russia has offered S-350 Vityas air defense system to India. This modern medium range system will be available with Transfer of Technology (ToT), allowing parts of it to be manufactured in India. According to Rostec, this system, along with India’s existing S-400 Triumph batteries, will further strengthen the country’s integrated air defense capability.

Focus on S-350 in high-level talks
In recent high-level meetings, in addition to the S-350, additional S-400 regiments and the future S-500 system were also discussed. Currently, Russia is presenting the S-350 as a practical and readily available option. India has already operationalized three squadrons of S-400 and two more squadrons will be deployed soon.

Features of S-350
S-350 Vityaz (S-350E) is Russia’s modern medium range surface-to-air missile system. It has been prepared to replace the old S-300PS. It is capable of intercepting fighter aircraft, helicopters, drones, cruise missiles and stealth targets.

technical capabilities
The range of this system is 120 kilometers for aerodynamic targets and 25-30 kilometers for ballistic missiles. It can intercept targets up to a height of 20-30 kilometers. It has 9M96E, 9M96E2 and 9M100 missiles. 12 missiles can be loaded in one launcher and it can track and destroy multiple targets simultaneously. The multifunctional AESA radar can also detect low altitude threats.

Contribution to border security
S-350 will strengthen India’s security against neighboring challenges like Pakistan and China. It will be effective in stopping Pakistan’s JF-17 and J-10 fighter jets and Babur cruise missiles. It will provide additional security cover in areas like Ladakh and Arunachal against China’s J-20 stealth fighter, drones and hypersonic missiles.

Important role in multi-layer air defense
The S-350, along with the Akash, Barak-8 and S-400 systems, will complete India’s multi-layer air defence. This will increase the ability to stop enemy attacks and will provide operational freedom to the Indian Air Force. If the deal is finalized, its production and maintenance in India will also give a strong boost to the indigenous defense industry.
