The railway over bridge under construction on National Highway 45 in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh suddenly collapsed on Sunday evening. After this accident, traffic on this major road connecting Jabalpur and the capital Bhopal has completely stopped. It is fortunate that there were no casualties in this accident. When the information reached Upper, the police reached on both sides and stopped the traffic. After this accident, questions are being raised on the construction organization.
An inquiry has been ordered into the collapse of the bridge connecting Bhopal-Jabalpur within just four years. At the same time, questions are also being raised regarding the rampant corruption that why a bridge is not functioning even for four years? It is believed that substandard material has been used in the construction.
Bridge fell victim to poor construction
This bridge, which was completed just 4 years ago, is pointing towards corruption and poor quality. Local people were raising questions on its construction work for a long time. Let us tell you that a part of the bridge was damaged for the last several months, and the repair work of that damaged part was also being done by the contractor. Due to which traffic was being diverted from only one direction. But on Sunday evening the road was completely closed due to the collapse of the second part of the bridge.

Due to closure of National Highway 45, traffic has been diverted from inside Shahpura city. Due to which people going from Jabalpur to Bhopal have to travel a long distance. Police have made arrangements for additional forces regarding traffic.
MPRDC negligence exposed
Let us tell you that the responsibility of construction and maintenance of this bridge was of Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC). Earlier in November, a part of the bridge had tilted, even then the MPRDC officials had shirked their responsibility by asking the contractor to get the construction done. But due to lack of timely repairs, another major accident occurred. The good thing is that there was no loss of life in this accident. On the other hand, as soon as information about the incident was received, senior administration officials reached the spot and efforts were made to remove the debris till late night.
