11 people died in a painful road accident on Sunday morning in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh. All were going to visit the Prithvi Nath temple, when the train suddenly fell into Nahar in the Itiathok police station area. There were 15 people in the car. At present, relief and rescue operations are going on on the spot. CM Yogi expressed grief over the incident and has instructed the officials to reach relief soon.

Local people said that there were 15 people in the car, who were going to Jalabhishek and Darshan at the famous Prithvi Nath temple in Gonda. It is being told that the car suddenly fell uncontrollably into the canal built on the roadside. In the accident, 11 people died on the spot, while four others were injured. The injured have been immediately admitted to the nearest hospital, where their condition is said to be critical.

Police and administration action

On receiving the information of the accident, the Itiathok police station, NDRF, and local administration teams reached the spot. Crane and other equipment were used to accelerate rescue operations. The police have sent the bodies for postmortem and every effort is being made to treat the injured. In the preliminary investigation, high speed and poor road condition is being considered as the cause of the accident.

Wave of mourning in the area

Please tell that Prithvi Nath Temple is located in the Karnailganj area of Gonda district and is famous for one of the biggest Shivalingas in Asia. In the month of Sawan, a large number of devotees come here to visit. There has been a wave of mourning in the entire area due to this accident.

CM Yogi announced to give five lakhs to the dead

Through the social media platform ‘X’, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in a post, “The loss of life in the district Gonda is very sad and heartbroken. My condolences are with the bereaved families. The families of the people who died in this accident have given financial assistance of 5-5 lakhs and immediately sent the injured to the district administration and immediately gave them instructions for their proper treatment.”

The District Magistrate has ordered an inquiry regarding the incident. He informed that all possible treatment is being given to the injured. The team of officers and employees is constantly on the spot.
