Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath organized a program to release the first installment of Rs 900 crore through DBT in the bank accounts of 90,000 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 at Indira Gandhi Pratisthan, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow on 16 March 2020. During the program he said that every person dreams of having his own house. He told that before 2017, the government used to think only about itself and its family, whereas for his government, the population of 25 crores is the family.
The Chief Minister said that houses will be built first for the poor and the underprivileged will get the benefit. He told that most of the women are beneficiaries of the scheme and those who were earlier deprived, have today become owners of their own houses. CM also said that earlier there was no scheme for street vendors, but now loan facility has been made available for them also under PM Samiddhi Yojana.
Housing facilities should be provided to the poor- CM
In the program, he mentioned about building houses for the poor, journalists, teachers, doctors and advocates on the land that was freed from the mafia. CM said that this is a message that houses are being built for the poor by confiscating the illegal properties of the mafia. He talked about continuing this effort in all the districts and directed that the lands which are still under occupation should be freed and housing facilities should be provided to the poor by building high-rise buildings.
Along with the Chief Minister, officials of the scheme and other attendees were also present in the program. CM Yogi said on this occasion that when a person is immersed in only selfishness, his sensitivity dies, but his government is working for the welfare of everyone by thinking from a holistic perspective. This scheme will not only strengthen the lives of the poor, but will also become a symbol of Uttar Pradesh emerging from the sick state and moving on the path of development.
