CM Rekha Gupta on La Olympics and Paralympics: The Delhi government has taken a big decision regarding the Olympics and Paralympics. The government of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has increased the funds given to the Olympic and Paralympic winners. Ashish Sood, a minister in the Delhi government, gave this information on Tuesday, July 22. According to the PTI report, it has also been announced to give jobs to gold, silver and bronze medalists.
7 crore to gold medal winner in Olympics
This big decision was taken under the cabinet meeting chaired by Delhi CM Rekha Gupta. According to PTI, Ashish Sood said that under the Chief Minister’s Sports Promotion Scheme, the player who won the gold medal in the Olympics and Paralympics will be given Rs 7 crore, the player who won the silver medal will be given Rs 5 crore and the player who won the brand medal will be given Rs 3 crore. Ashish Sood said that this decision has been taken to promote sports ecosystem.
Before this announcement of CM Rekha Gupta’s government, the gold medal winner in the Olympics and Paralympics received Rs 3 crore, the silver medal winner got Rs 2 crore and the brand medal winner Rs 1 crore.
Olympic winners will get government job
Ashish Sood, a minister in the Delhi government, has also informed that gold and silver medal winners will be given jobs in Group-A category in Olympics and Paralympics. At the same time, players who win bronze medal will be given jobs in Group B category.
India records in Olympics
India has so far participated in 25 Olympics, out of which 41 medals have come in the bag of the country. India took part in the Olympics for the first time in the year 1900, when India won two silver medals. India has won the highest 7 medals in Tokyo Olympics so far. At the same time, India won 6 medals in the Paris Olympics 2024, including one silver and five bronze. Neeraj Chopra has won a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics for India.
